Gilbert Martin Lee, age 74, of Whitesboro, Oklahoma, passed away November 23, 2013, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Gilbert was born July 7, 1939, in Dallas, Texas, to Charles Gilbert and Catherine Mary (O’Brien) Lee. He married Beverly Regina Gose on April 11, 1970 in Tustin, California. Gilbert grew up in southern California. He worked for the Los Angeles Times as a distribution manager for twenty years. Gilbert was also a courier for Labcorp for over twenty years. He enjoyed fishing in tournaments and collecting knives.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Lee of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Catherine Lee also of McKinney; grandchildren, Tawnie Lee and Julia Turk; two brothers; his twin, Charles Lee of Orange, California and Ron Lee of Coleman, Texas; sister, Joan Cudlitz of Harrison, Arkansas; nieces, Tammy Reed-Eagleson and Susan Lee Meyer; lifetime friends Loyd Pittman and Moe Mallard; and a host of other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday evening at the funeral home.
