Gien-Chen Lee

Mr. Lee passed away February 5, 2013 at the age of 91at Prestonwood Nursing Home in Plano, Texas. He was born in Nanking, China February 4, 1922 to Xian-Tian and Chu-Shi. In his early years, Mr. Lee helped his family through difficult times during the Japanese occupation. He never graduated from high school but, made himself a radioman. Mr. Lee met his wife, Yao-Nan Chen (deceased) in Nanking where they married. He moved from Nanking, China to Taipei, Taiwan after the Chinese Communist occupied China. Mr. Lee was employed by China Merchants Group as a radio operator and later became a Communication Officer. He spent most of his life working on ships and traveling around the world. After he retired, he moved to Texas to be close to his family. Mr. Lee collected stamps, loved Chinese Opera, and was an avid Chinese Calligrapher. He drew many splendid writings over the years that he proudly shared with his friends and family. Mr. Lee was also passionate about fitness. He jogged and walked until the day of his illness. He was a devoted father who loved his family unconditionally. Although we loved him dearly, we could not keep him. Mr. Lee lived a long life and died peacefully. He will be forever in our hearts.

Mr. Lee is survived by his son, Benjamin Lee; daughter, Ling Pan; daughter-in-law, Jessica Lee; son-in-law, Nelson Pan; four grandchildren, Danny Pan, Heather Pan, Patrick Lee, Alexander Lee; two grandchildren-in-law, Pei-Hsian Lin, Kevin Wheatley; three great-grandchildren, Jia-yun Pan, Jia-wei Pan, and Marissa Wheatley.

Mr. Gien-Chen Lee service will be held 10:00 a.m., Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, TX 75013. The family will receive friends during a visitation Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
