Gerald Douglas "Jerry" Mammel

Mr. Gerald Douglas “Jerry” Mammel, age 68 of Denton, Texas passed away on March 18, 2006. He was born August 6, 1937 in Fargo, North Dakota to John A. and Ellen (Thompson) Mammel. Mr. Mammel graduated from Fargo High School in 1955. He attended North Dakota State University where he met Shirley Rae Johnson who became his wife in 1959. Mr. Mammel worked in retail music industry for over 45 years. He began his career working for the Wylie Piano Company of Fargo, North Dakota in 1959. Most recently he was associated with Mr. E’s Music in Arlington, and Cordogan’s Pianoland in Geneva, Illinois. Mr. Mammel also worked many years in sales, marketing, training, product development and management for Baldwin, Wurlitzer, Hammond Organ, and Kawai America. He was a loving father to three children and a friend to all. Everyone will miss him. He is survived by his children, Scott Mammel and wife, Brenda of Plano, Texas, Craig Mammel and wife, Tracy of Flower Mound, Texas, and Kim Mammel of Denton, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer Mammel and Jessica Mammel both of Plano, Texas, Amanda Giles, Ian Giles, and Mason Giles all of Flower Mound, Texas; sister, Gayle Rettberg of California; and numerous other relatives and many friends. Mr. Mammel was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Mammel and his parents. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 24, 2006 in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Danny Buster officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, Thursday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
