Gerald “Jerry” Dean Pack, passed away on July 21, 2011 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born March 17, 1935 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Roy Dossie and Eva Mae (Ellington) Pack. Jerry grew up in Arkansas where he graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1953. He received a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas in 1958. He married Dorothy Ann Reeves in October of 1957 in Dallas, Texas. Jerry worked at Lockheed-Martin as an engineer for 37 years until his retirement in 1993. After retirement, he taught computer classes at Seniornet, a non-profit organization in Fort Worth, Texas. Jerry was a rock hound, pilot, enjoyed playing the stock market, photography, making jewelry, and nurturing his beloved family. He is survived by daughter, Jerrilyn Schwalb and husband Chris of McKinney, Texas; son, Gregory Pack and wife Linda Alvarado of Copperas Cove, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Pack, Ryan Rooke, Tyler Schwalb, Teresa Pack, and Isabel Pack; brothers, Aubrey Pack and Dossie Pack of Jonesboro, Arkansas; sisters, Elaine Payton of Spring Hill, Tennessee and Eloise Stowe of Little Rock, Arkansas; and multiple nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, wife and siblings, Nathan Pack, Curtis Pack, Harold Pack, Retha Schisler and Lawanda Gott. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas, with Deacon Gerald “Jerry” Schwalb officiating. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Friday, July 29, 2011 to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening beginning at 4:00 p.m.
