Georgia Carol McNeese McMahan, age 63, of Van Alstyne, Texas, passed away July 2, 2008, in Sherman, Texas. Georgia was born January 29, 1945, in McKinney, Texas, to George and Mary (Ingram) McNeese. She was raised in Van Alstyne, Texas and graduated from high school in 1963. Georgia was an accounting specialist at LegacyTexas Bank. Georgia was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister with a gentle and compassionate spirit. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Velekei and husband, Todd of Van Alstyne, Texas; grandson, Jordan Michael Velekei; brothers, Charles McNeese and wife, Virginia, Billy McNeese and wife, Reba, and Jack McNeese and wife, Linda, all of Richardson, Texas; sister, Doris Johnston of Van Alstyne, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, and loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary McNeese. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 5, 2008, at First United Methodist Church in Van Alstyne, Texas with Rev. Gayle Landis officiating. Interment will follow at Van Alstyne Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 3, 2008, at 18 Preakness, Van Alstyne. Serving as pallbearers will be Brent Murley, Chris Nance, Gerry Nance, Raymond Tate, Tim Urban, and Byron Whitaker. The family would like to offer their sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses of Wilson N. Jones Hospital, Texas Cancer Center, Grayson County Home Health, and Grayson County Home Hospice for their care and compassion. Also, thank you to the friends, family, and coworkers that provided so many prayers, phone calls, love, and support.
