George Devereaux Stewart, Jr. of Plano, Texas passed away August 25, 2013 at the age of 86. He was born January 3, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York. George married Jeanne Kale on September 13, 1952 in Plainfield, New Jersey. He was formerly an Executive Vice President with Fieldcrest Mills, Inc. George was a long-time member of the MHMR Board in Collin County and the Serra Club at St. Mark Catholic Church in Plano.
George is survived by his wife, Jeanne Stewart of Plano; son, Gregory D. Stewart and wife Nancy of Basking Ridge, New Jersey; daughters, Pamela Lewis and husband Keith of Allen, Texas, Mary Beth Stewart of Plano; grandchildren, Gregory F. Stewart and wife Caitlin of San Francisco, California, Thomas D. Stewart of Moorestown, New Jersey, Brittany J. Stewart of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, Jack F. Stewart of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, Chase S. Lewis and wife Katie of Dallas, Texas, Christopher G. Lewis of Allen, Texas, Katherine E. Lewis of Addison, Texas, Patrick Sheeran of Alexandria, Virginia; sister, Grace Marie Zabbia of Hauppauge, New York; son-in-law, Gerald Sheeran of Alexandria, Virginia and a host of other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carole Ann Sheeran.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 29, 2013 at St. Mark Catholic Church, 1201 Alma Drive, Plano, Texas 75075 with Father Clifford Smith officiating.
