George Richard Meusel, Jr.

George Richard Meusel, Jr., age 88, of McKinney, Texas, formerly of Dallas, Texas, passed away on January 30, 2014.  He was born in Cleburne, Texas, on December 28, 1925, to George Richard Meusel, Sr. and Hattie Marie (Notzold) Meusel.  On July 20, 1946, George married Robbie Morrisett in Dallas, Texas.  He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas Texas.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army, and is a veteran of World War II in the European Theater.  George worked for the Department of Labor and other Government Departments for 35 years where he retired. After retirement he worked at the Dallas Museum of Art, as a security guard. George was a volunteer at Whiterock Center of Hope, a member of Lake Highlands Presbyterian Church and a former member of St. Mark Presbyterian Church in Dallas.

He is survived by his loving wife and family, Robbie Meusel of McKinney; daughters, Lisa Dagley and husband Eric of Frisco, Texas, Kay Black and husband Truman of New Castle, Colorado; grandchildren, Lori Black, Shari Schoon and husband Eric, Adam Dagley and wife Layci, Jason Dagley and Alex Dagley; great-grandchildren, Samuel Schoon, Addison Schoon, Sevanah Black and Symphony Rose Dagley; brother, John Meusel; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.

George is preceded in death by his parents, George Richard Meusel, Sr. and Hattie Marie Meusel; and sister, Rosemary Sebastian.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 6, 2014, at Lake Highlands Presbyterian Church, 8525 Audelia Road, Dallas, Texas, with Rev. Marvin Groute officiating.
