George Elmer Lawson, age 72, of McKinney, Texas passed away May 17, 2011. He was born March 29, 1939 in Celina, Texas to Pryor Reno Lawson and Lois (Miller) Lawson. On October 5, 1957 he married Margaret Hibdon in McKinney, Texas. George was a member of Altoga Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Lawson of McKinney, Texas; sons, Billy D. Lawson and wife, Terri of Murphy, Texas, Danny Lawson and wife, Pam of Princeton, Texas, Randy Lawson and wife, Mary of Desert, Texas and Charlie Lawson of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Kay Stevens and husband, James of Princeton, Texas; brothers, Sammy Lawson and wife, Ruth of Ravenna, Texas and Billy G. Lawson of McKinney, Texas; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and a host of other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and his brother, Joe Lawson. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 20, 2011, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery, McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
