Born, October 6, 1910 in Denton County, near Frisco, Passed Away October 31, 2006 in Plano, Texas. She was the widow of John William Kerley, a prominent farmer in the Frisco area. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church and a proud citizen of Frisco, where most people knew her as “Sis Kerley” a friend to all. She was survived by a daughter, Janis Poirier and her husband John Poirier; son, John N. Kerley and his wife Marilyn Kerley; 9 grandchildren, Diana Marie Estill, John Alan Kerley, Kerry Lowell Kerley, Joel Anson Kerley, Jana Ruth Barlow, Julie Renee Burgamy, John David Poirier, Joe Michael Poirier, and Jerry Lynn Poirier; 9 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; James Reeder Newman and Lula Neal Newman; 5 brothers, Newell Nathan Newman, Raymond Earl Newman, Homer Clinton Newman, Otis Newman, and Jackie Neal Newman. Funeral Service will be held at First Baptist Church Thursday, November 2, 2006 at 3:00PM in Frisco, Texas with Dr. Chuck Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Rowlett Cemetery in Plano, Texas. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 1, 2006 from 6:00-8:00PM at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Frisco, Texas.
