Geneva Ruth Utsey of Plano, Texas passed away June 3, 2013 at the age of 86. She was born December 20, 1926 to Bernard and Annie Ernestine (Cotter) Spurgin in Collin County, Texas where she also grew up. Ruth married Harold V. Utsey on March 26, 1966 in Plano, Texas. She worked as a 911 dispatcher, butcher and a caregiver for the elderly. Ruth enjoyed taking care of all of her family and friends. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Plano, Texas.
She is survived by children, Bobbie Markey of Parker, Texas, Beth Freeman of Plano, Texas; Larry Williams and wife Deloras of Mesquite, Texas, Walter Williams and wife Barbara of Linden, Texas and Tracy Utsey and wife Amy of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Monica Williamson and husband Billy of Wylie, Texas; Casey Williams and wife Amy of Plano, Texas; Heath Williams and wife Shelia of Lucas, Texas, Andrea Martinez and husband Nick of Wylie, Texas, Mika Williams and wife Stephanie of Allen, Texas, Laura Williams of Mesquite, Texas, Sara Utsey of Plano, Texas and Spencer Utsey of Plano, Texas; 22 great-grandchildren and 1great-great-grandchild.
Ruth was preceded in death by parents; three husbands, and seven brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Fitzhugh Cemetery in Forest Grove Community, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
