Gene (Gene Pop) Nichols, age 76 of Frisco, Texas, passed away on April 4, 2009. He was born on January 25, 1933 in Terrell, Texas to Virginia Sue (Flatt) Masters and Frank Jackson Nichols. On September 29, 1951, he married Ruby Mae Reynolds in Durant, Oklahoma. Gene is survived by his children, Sue Ann Vest and her husband Gary of Celina, Texas, Van Nichols and his wife, Kathy, of Celina, Texas, Kim Herron and her husband, Mark, of Celina, Texas; grandchildren, Bart Vest and his wife, Mandie, Zack Vest and his wife, Melanie, Trent Vest and his wife, Courtney, Seth Vest, Cade Nichols, Connor Nichols, Camryn Nichols, Haley Pennington and husband, Shad, and Heath Herron; great-grandchildren, Ross, Reese, Reid, Ethan, Kailyn, Madison Vest, Abby and Cooper Pennington; several niece and nephews. Gene is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Mae Nichols; sister, Virginia Ann Warren; brother, Frank Burl Nichols; parents, Virginia and Frank Nichols. A Funeral Service will be held at First Baptist Church of Frisco on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at 11:00 AM with Dr. Raymond Horne officiating. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home in Frisco at their convenience on Tuesday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening at 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
