Gayla Sue deGraauw, age 59 of The Colony, Texas passed away on July 27, 2014. She was born on October 18, 1954 in Norman, Oklahoma to Russell Henry Clemens and Helen Williams. On July 24, 1982, Gayla married Robert Joseph “Joe” deGraauw in Edmond, Oklahoma. Gayla was a Home Health Aide in the Medical Field.
Gayla is survived by her husband, Joe deGraauw of The Colony, Texas; two children, Shauna Farrington and her husband, Gary of The Colony, Texas and Jason deGraauw of The Colony, Texas; two grandchildren, Maranda Farrington and Justin Farrington; mother, Helen Baker of Norman, Oklahoma; three sisters, Janet Ammon, Claudia Fields and her husband, Richard and Joyce Fussell brother; Dale Clemens and his wife, Emma of Norman, Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Gayla is preceded in death by her father Russell Clemens.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church in The Colony, Texas on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Father Pavlo presiding. A Visitation will be held at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass at the church with a Rosary beginning at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Little Elm Cemetery in Little Elm, Texas. In lieu of flowers charitable contributions can be made in Gayla's name to the American Caner Society at www.cancer.org
