Gary Don Methvin, age 49, of Allen, Texas, passed away on October 7, 2015. He was born on February 5, 1966 in La Marque, Texas, to Gordon A. and Dianna (Marek) Methvin.
Gary worked for Aaron’s Inc. for over 20 years, finishing out his tenure as a Franchise Consultant. He enjoyed the travel opportunities the job provided to him and was an avid traveler, recently traveling in the last few years to Italy, England, the Virgin Islands and the Caribbean. He enjoyed hockey and cheering on the Allen Americans. He loved Starbucks and often on his weekends would do crossword puzzles with his family. He was very proud of his Mustang Convertible and enjoyed those precious few days in Texas when he could ride with the top down, his dog Barkley with him in the backseat. He was known for his sense of humor and you would rarely see him without a smile on his face.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Methvin of Allen, Texas; children, Amanda Methvin and Troy Methvin also of Allen, Texas; father, Gordon Methvin and wife Jo of Beaumont, Texas; Steven Methvin and wife Glenda of Middletown, Connecticut; and a host of other loving family members and friends.
Gary is preceded in death by his mother, Dianna Methvin.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.
