IN LOVING MEMORY

Gail Louise Farrington

Mar 30 1950 - Nov 03 2015

During the afternoon of November 3rd, Gail passed away after a two year battle with cancer.   Gail was in her home in McKinney, TX, being comforted by family members at the time. She was 65 years of age. Gail was born at 6:45PM on March 30th, 1950 at the Quonset Point Naval Air Station Dispensary in the town of North Kingston, RI. She was the second of four children of Robert and Barbara MacKay of New London, Connecticut. Over the following years they moved to Miami, Florida and Fort Wayne, Indiana, where Gail graduated from R. Nelson Snyder High School in 1968. On October 25, 1974, Gail married Dick Bauer in Fort Wayne. They were married over 20 years and had three children: Jody, Kent and Annie. During this time, Gail worked as a dental hygienist and office manager and as an employee of Lincoln Life Insurance. She was active in the Indiana chapter of the American Dental Association.

Gail married Ted Farrington on February 15th, 2001. They were together for 15 years, living in Appleton, Wisconsin, New Hope, Pennsylvania and ultimately McKinney, Texas. Gail was first and foremost a loving and caring mother, who took the role of parenting very seriously. She was an advocate for children and often tutored troubled students in her home. While born and raised Christian, Gail became a student of the Jewish religion later in life. She was very well versed in the teachings of the ancient Jewish religion, Kabbalah and astrology. She used principles learned here to help many troubled children and families. Gail loved home construction and design. She and Dick ran R. A. Bauer Builders, building homes and commercial property together for many years. She later worked in interior design and ran a home staging business in McKinney. Gail was an avid reader and enjoyed the game of chess. Gail and Ted could often be found playing chess while enjoying dinner or a drink around New Hope or McKinney. They especially enjoyed playing chess while traveling. Finally, she was a loving wife and life partner for her husband. She will be greatly missed.

Gail is survived by her husband, Ted; siblings, Glenn, Scott and Janet; children, Jody, Kent and Annie and their father Richard; step-children, Jay and John; grandchildren, Zachary, Gabrielle, Jackson and Olivia; and step-grandson, Barrett.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 6, 2015 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. A reception will be held there after the service. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home.
