G C Sharp

GC Sharp, 79, of Coldwater, formerly of Texas, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2011 at the Community Health Center of Branch County. GC was born on July 1, 1932 in Princeton, Texas to Julius E. and Lavada L. (Rose) Sharp. He graduated from high school in McKinney, TX and went on to Dallas Christian College, where he was a member of the first graduating class. He married his wife, Judy on December 23, 1972 and was married to her for 39 years on Friday. GC spent his entire life serving the Lord as a minister and evangelist within the Christian Church/Church of Christ. He preached at churches all over the country including: Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Wyoming, New Mexico, Indiana and lastly he assisted Pastor Bream at Northview Christian Church in Coldwater, teaching an adult bible study and leading in prayer groups. Following his preaching career, he traveled the country as a song evangelist, singing Southern Gospel Music. He had a great love of music and used his talent to serve God and change lives. GC even professionally recorded gospel albums in both Nashville, TN and Dallas, TX several years ago. He also preached at Coldwater’s Memorial Day Celebration church service for many years. Mr. Sharp is survived by his wife Judy, his sons Gerry Christopher (Theresa) Sharp of Murfreesboro, AR and Monte Wayne (Connie) Sharp of Munford, TN, his daughter Melissa (Tony) Cox of Murfreesboro, AR, his nephew Michael (Sue) Sharp of Dallas, TX his sisters-in law Debbie (Jeff) Bream of Coldwater, Nancy (Tim) Merriman of Griffith, IN, and his grandchildren; Kara, Chloe, Hunter, Paige, Nathan and Justin, as well as several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother EJ Sharp. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Northview Christian Church in Coldwater. Pastor Jeff Bream, GC’s brother-in-law, will officiate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater and again on Wednesday at the church, beginning at 9:00 AM. A second service will be held in Allen, TX at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 30, 2011 with interment at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, TX. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 7:00 p.m., Thursday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen. Memorial contributions may be directed to Northview Christian Church.
