Frederick Lloyd Sleet, age 79, of Plano, Texas passed away October 7, 2008. He was born October 13, 1928 in New Castle, Indiana to Harold and Mossie (Kiser) Sleet. On May 22, 1984 Frederick married Karen Moe in Dallas, Texas. He proudly served in the United States Army. Frederick worked for the IRS for 30 years where he retired as the Assistant Regional Commissioner. After the IRS he opened a private practice, Frederick L. Sleet and Associates Tax Consultant. He is survived by his wife, Karen Moe; children, Frederick A. Sleet and wife, Carolyn of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Cynthia D. Gentry of Decatur, Alabama, Pamela K. Sleet of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Nettie M. Newsome of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Ingrid J. Johnson and husband, Terrell of Anderson, Indiana; grandchildren, Corey Sleet, Roderick Sleet, Alexis Sleet, Joseph Gentry, Naomi Newsome, Isaac Newsome and Logan Newsome; brothers, Mark Sleet and wife, Gladys of Connersville, Indiana, David Sleet and wife, Jeanette of Anderson, Indiana, John Sleet and wife, Deborah of Upland, California, Ernest Sleet and wife, Kathryn of Rancho Cucamonga, California; sisters, Evelyn Smith of Indianapolis, Indiana, Marian Hunt of Hamilton, Ohio, Ellen Thompson and husband, Tommy of Corpus Christi, Texas, Gloria Herd and husband, Sam of Brooklyn, New York and June Purvis of Los Angeles, California; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frank, Bruce and Dale Sleet; sisters, Rosemary, Charity, Barbara Jean Sleet and Donna Churchman. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, October 11, 2008, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Frederick A. Sleet officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Saturday from 3:00-4:00 p.m. prior to the service, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
