He attended schools in McKinney: Central Ward Elementary, L.A.Scott Junior High and was a member of the last graduating class of the original Boyd High School in 1958. On June 19, 1959, Fred married his high school sweetheart Linda Sanders. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, McKinney, since 1958, where he was ordained as deacon and elder in the PC (USA). He served as president of the McKinney Kiwanis Club in 1980-81. Fred retired with the U. S. Postal Service in 1992, as Superintendent of Operations in Allen, Texas. He delivered flowers for Edwards Floral Design for over 10 years, retiring in 2013.

Freddy was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers J.A. of New Mexico, Bill of Tomball, Texas, Bob of McKinney, and sister Dorothy Latham of McKinney.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Hackney of McKinney, two daughters Robin Frailicks and husband Steve Hanes of Ft. Worth, Julie Hackney of McKinney, two grandsons Jamie Carroll Frailicks of San Marcos and Brandon O’Bier of Westminster, two granddaughters Shelby Pell of McKinney and Bailey O’Bier of Westminster. Fred was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, friend and follower of Jesus Christ. He loved people and, until the rapid growth in our area, knew almost everyone and where they lived. He would see people he knew almost everywhere he went and he loved to talk about old times. He loved sports, camping, water skiing, watching his children and grandchildren in school and little league events.
