Fred Joseph Belcher

Fred Joseph Belcher, age 61, of Allen, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 8, 2010. He was born on October 26, 1948 in Sioux City, Iowa to Alfred Leroy Belcher and Mary Delores Ebert. As a young adult, Fred was called to serve his country overseas in the United States Army. On April 8, 1972, Fred married Suzanne Marie Dingman in Des Moines, Iowa. Together, they raised their only daughter, Angela Suzanne. For the past 24 years, his home has been in Allen, Texas, where he owned and operated his business, Print Towne. Throughout his life, Fred enjoyed spending time outdoors, with both fishing and gardening as his favorite hobbies. Fred also enjoyed spending time with his family, and was especially proud of his only grandchild, Allyson. A member of Prestonwood Baptist Church, Fred was a deeply spiritual person who spent each morning reading his Bible and in daily prayer on his knees. Fred is survived by his wife, Suzanne Belcher, of Allen, Texas; his daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Marshall Cook, of Plano, Texas; his grand-daughter, Allyson Cook, of Plano, Texas; his sisters, Barbara Howard and husband, Randy of Carlisle, Iowa and Judi Albaugh, of Sioux City, Iowa; along with many nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Delores Belcher, and his brother, David Belcher. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 14, 2010, at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 5:30 p.m., Thursday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen. Memorials may be made to the Powerpoint Ministries at Prestonwood Baptist Church.
