Frank Enoch Richter, Jr.

Frank E. Richter, Jr. passed away on May 22, 2011 in Frisco, Texas. He was born to Frank E. Richter, Sr. and Jimmie Edith Abbott Richter on January 28, 1919 in Alvin, Texas. He lived in Tyler, Texas for the last 43 years and only recently moved to Frisco, Texas. He graduated from Alvin High School and attended Texas A & M University. He was a member of Marvin United Methodist Church of Tyler, Texas where he served as an official Board Member, usher, Sunday School teacher, Tellers Committee and Annual Conference Delegate. He was a member of Alvin Lodge No 762 A.F. & A.M. for over sixty years. He retired from Amoco Production Co. as Tyler District Administrative Supervisor, March 1, 1982, after 37 years of service. He served for five years in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was inducted in 1940 and was released from active duty as a chief warrant officer in 1945. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with two Bronze Stars. He was also awarded the Presidential Unit Citation and the American Defense and World War II Victory Medals. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years Marsette T. Richter; his parents ; one brother George H. Richter and two sisters Nelda Franz and Jane McNiel. Survivors include his children Warren Frank Richter and his wife Linda of Kingwood, TX, Lucy Richter Williams and her husband Greg of Friendswood, TX and son Rev. William Thagard Echols-Richter and his wife Laura of Frisco, TX; grandchildren Debbie Richter Cook, Bobby Richter, Casey Richter, Brandon Williams, Julie Richter Klossner, Alex Williams, Collin Echols-Richter and Lawson Echols-Richter; brother Jimmy Richter and his sisters Anna Griffin and Marie Newbery. A memorial service will be held at Marvin United Methodist Church in Tyler, Texas on Saturday, June 4 at 2:00 pm with Dr. John Robbins officiating. There will be a reception following the service for family and friends. A private graveside service will be held at the Bremond Cemetery in Bremond, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Marvin UMC, 300 W. Erwin St., Tyler, TX 75702 or Grace Avenue UMC, 3521 Main Street, Frisco, TX 75034.
