Frank McBride, age 83, of McKinney, Texas, passed away July 16, 2007 in McKinney. He was born on September 2, 1923, in Winterset, Iowa, to Vernon Andrew and Isabella (Criss) McBride. He married Davie Darlene Dodson on December 21, 1946, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Mr. McBride was a Lieutenant in the US Navy and served for 24 years. He served his country during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the Silver Eagles Association, San Francisco Wing. Mr. McBride was an old car enthusiast, having restored several Model A Ford roadsters, an MGB-GT and an Austin Healy 3000. He was very interested in geneology and spent time in libraries, old courthouses and cemeteries researching the McBride and Criss families. He was a craftsman when it involved woodwork and he made beautiful furniture. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Davie; son, Paul McBride and his wife Gail of Bridgeport, TX; daughter, Sheryl McBride and her husband Jim DeMersseman of Greeley, CO; grandchildren, Kevin McBride of Bridgeport, TX and Kyle McBride of Weatherford, TX; sister, Darlene Barker and her husband Jim of Redding, CA; four nieces; three nephews; and numerous grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 20, 2007, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Thursday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening beginning at 6:00 PM. Interment will follow with full military honors at DFW National Cemetery.
