Francisco Baez, age 69, of Allen, Texas, passed away December 29, 2015. Francisco was born May 21, 1946, in Comerío, Puerto Rico, to Santos and Flor Maria (Negron) Baez. He moved to Brooklyn, New York at age seven where he attended schools. Francisco worked as a building superintendent and also worked for Colonial Glass in New York as a maintenance mechanic and shop foreman. He moved his family to Texas in 1988 where he worked for over eleven years. Francisco always enjoyed doing carpentry work, fixing things, and spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen Baez of Allen, Texas; children, Francisco Baez, Jr. and wife, Ra’Shawnda of Weatherford, Texas, Madeline Bell and husband, John of Allen, Texas, and Sandra Sustaita and husband, Billy of Carrollton, Texas; grandchildren, Faith, Jasmin, Mercedes and husband, Dustan, Steph, John Vincent, Olivia, Sofia, and Amelia; great-grandchildren, Nyellie and Sadina; brothers, Miguel, Santos, and Jose; sisters, Gloria, Susan, Carmen, Aida, and Virginia; and a host of other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at St. Mark Catholic Church, 1201 Alma Dr., Plano, Texas, 75075. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., with a rosary beginning at 8:00 p.m.
