Frances Marie McMurray Prince

Mrs. Frances Marie McMurray Prince died February 5, 2005 at Medical Center at McKinney after a brief illness. Marie was born in Collin County on August 16, 1913. Her parents were early Collin County residents, the late Elmer C. McMurray and Reppie Jane Cooper McMurray. She graduated from McKinney High School and East Texas State Teachers College, later East Texas State University and Texas A & M University at Commerce. A career educator, Marie taught school in Allen, Princeton, and retired from McKinney Independent School District teaching at J. W. Webb Elementary until 1977. She was a life member of First Christian Church, McKinney, the Lamplighters Sunday School Class, a Life Member of PTA and McKinney Retired Teachers Association. She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Jewel Wallace and Lucille McMurray. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Sherlen Prince of McKinney; a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Bill Smythe of Mansfield, TX; grandchildren, Bryan Prince of McKinney, Jabin Smythe of Wichita Falls, TX, Jussin Smythe Crews of Wichita, KS and Janay Smythe of Mansfield; great-granddaughters, Brandyce and Jordan Crews, both of Wichita; brother, E. C. McMurray of Graham, TX; and numerous cousins and nieces. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 7, 2005, at 3:00 PM at First Christian Church of McKinney with a visitation on Sunday, February 6, 2005 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at Pecan Grove Cemetery prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Christian Church building fund.
