Frances Smith Montgomery was born March 19, 1930 at Red River County, Texas to Era Ray Smith and Lorraine Ripplemeyer Smith. She married Von Ray Montgomery on March 27, 1948 at Dallas, Texas. She died Friday, October 22, 2010 in Sherman, Texas at the age of 80. Fran was devoted to her faith, her family, and her church. She loved her family and was a devoted mother and "Nanny" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loved them all fiercely. She found great joy and a second home at King's Trail Cowboy church and loved her church family. Fran worked at Texas Instruments in both Richardson and Sherman, and later worked as a bookkeeper for Grayson Climate Engineers. Recently she served as a volunteer through the Foster Grandparent program primarily working with students at Tom Bean Elementary. She is survived by son, Leslie Montgomery and wife Debbi of Tom Bean; daughter, Cheryll Yowell and husband Bobby of Tom Bean; grandchildren, Monty Montgomery and wife Donna of Tom Bean; Leslie G. Montgomery and wife Tonya of Tom Bean; Angie Sims of Las Colinas; Zac Sims of Waco; great-grandchildren, James Martin, Justin Shrum, Macey Montgomery, Monty Montgomery, Taylor Montgomery, Cameron Montgomery, Dylan Montgomery, Alex Montgomery, Logan Montgomery all of Tom Bean; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, R.L. Smith of Mineral Wells; sisters, Lillian Edwards of Mineral Wells, Marie Langham of Colleyville, Jeannie Callis of Argyle, Wilma Jo Loughmiller of Lampasas. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother James Smith. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, October 25, 2010 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, Whitewright, Texas. Officiating the service will be Brother Jason Norton. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Cemetery in Blue Ridge, Texas. Pallbearers will be Rick Smith, Jack Langham, Monty Montgomery, Leslie Montgomery, Zac Sims, and James Martin. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Sunday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday, October 24, 2010 from 6:30pm - 8:00pm at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Whitewright, Texas.
