Frances Lee (Jordan) (Shahan) Cantrell

Frances Lee (Jordan) (Shahan) Cantrell passed away on February 9, 2013 at the age of 80. She was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas March 21, 1932. The Jordan family moved to Markley, Texas in 1934 and later moved to Loving, Texas where Mr. Jordan was an independent oil operator. Mrs. Cantrell is a “Class of 49” graduate of Graham High School and attended Tarleton State University. After returning to the United States after Mr. Cantrell’s death in Europe in 1971, she moved to Dallas and went to work for the Federal Government, retiring from the Social Security Administration after 23 years. A few years after retirement, she moved to a Senior Retirement Community in McKinney, Texas.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Walter “Steve” Cantrell and her parents J.J. (Jack) and Nora Jordan. Frances is survived by two daughters, Marla Davis of Plano, Pamela Ridgell, two grandchildren, Taylor Ridgell and Jordan Ridgell and a great granddaughter Izabella Gibson of Rowlett, Texas.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name, to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation, Donor Services, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, Texas 75265-0309 or ww5.komen.org.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, February 11, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, in Allen, Texas.
