Flossie Maye Carter, age 84, of McKinney, Texas, passed away January 11, 2011 in McKinney. Flossie was born February 6, 1926 in Franklin County, Texas, to Zeno W. and Opal Jane (Wolfe) Gidney. She married Bruce C. Carter on September 8, 1943 and was of the Methodist faith. She is survived by her daughters, Retta Anderson and husband, Dean of McKinney, Texas, Wanda Polser and husband, Larry, also of McKinney, and Linda Merriman and husband, Johnny of Plano, Texas; son, Eldon Carter and wife, Julia of McKinney, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; brother, Norman Gidney of McKinney, Texas; and sister, Etoyce Mayfield of Princeton, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 14, 2011, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., Thursday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
