Florence Lucille Toynbee

Age 87, of LITTLE ELM, TX, passed away at home on Friday, September 14, 2007 surrounded by her family. Born in Tarentum, PA, on 02/23/1920, she spent the majority of her life in Middletown, NJ before becoming a Texan in 2006. She worked for Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Tarentum, PA during World War II and tested airplanes for stress and sound. While volunteering at a VA Hospital, she met the love of her life, Raymond Toynbee, as he was recovering from wounds received in San Raphael, France. They married on 04/19/1945 and had 45 loving years of marriage. During her lifetime, she was involved in many civic and charitable organizations. She was a member of the Belford United Methodist Church (Belford, NJ), Middletown UMC (Middletown, NJ), and Grace Avenue UMC and the Lydia Group (Frisco, TX). She was also in the Middletown 1-5-8 Women’s Republican Club, VFW Auxiliary Post #2179, Disabled American Veteran’s (Fort Monmouth Chapter), and a VNA Volunteer. She is predeceased by her husband, Ray (1991); parents, Thomas George & Mary Izella (Milldollar) Mosley; 3 brothers, 1 sister, as well as her daughter Judy Foulks (2005). She is survived by her sister, Marilyn Cordier of Tarentum, PA; daughter, Jo Sargent of Little Elm, TX; a loving grandson, Kenneth R. Foulks Jr. & Mary-Beth of Belford, NJ; and four loving granddaughters: Karrie Foulks of Red Bank, NJ, Kortney (Foulks) & Richard Burke of Keyport, NJ, Kam (Sargent) & Michael DeBondt of League City, TX, and Dawn (Sargent) & Christopher McKeag of Frisco, TX. She also leaves five great-grandsons (Matt, Kenny & Mike Foulks, Myles DeBondt, and Jackson Burke). A memorial service will be held at Grace Avenue UM Church, 3521 Main St., Frisco, TX on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Attendees are requested to dress in red, white &/or blue colors as a celebration of her life and devotion to patriotism. She will be buried in Fairview Cemetery, Middletown, NJ.
