Floella Jane Queen

Floella Jane Queen “Tookie” “Janie,” 89 of Anna, TX went to meet our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Texoma Healthcare Center surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was born June 9, 1926 in Durant, OK to the late Robert W. Baggett and LaDella Bell Boone. After graduating from Durant High School she married and had a son, Denny Farrimond in 1945. Janie and Denny resided in Durant where she worked in the medical profession. In 1952 she met the love of her life Troy Queen who was currently in the United States Air Force. When Troy proposed to her, he promised to make her a Queen if she accepted. They did marry on May 20, 1952 and she was his Queen for 63 years. They had a daughter Deborah Dian Queen who was born on February 9, 1953. Due to Troy’s military career they lived in many different States as well as abroad in England. Janie became a licensed practical nurse and was trained at Medical Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She had a specialty in psychiatric nursing. Janie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She committed her life to family, offering unwavering support, love and compassion. Janie’s family truly was her purpose for living. She had a deep rooted faith and was a member of the Methodist Church within each community she resided. She was currently a member of the Anna United Methodist Church.

Janie is survived by her loving husband Troy Queen, son Denny Farrimond and wife Kathy of Winston-Salem, NC, daughter Deborah Stone and husband Don of Sherman, TX and grandchildren Todd Farrimond and wife Lisa, Nichole Farrimond, Matthew Farrimond and wife Lucy, Grant Farrimond and wife Elena, Aimee and husband Mike Peay, and Brad Stone. She also has five great grandchildren Garrett Farrimond, Griffin Peay, Gabby Peay, Grace Peay, and Gavin Stone. She is also survived by her brother’s children Suella Baggett, Annalou Baggett Myers and daughter Layla Myers.

Janie was preceded in death by her parents Robert W. Baggett and LaDella Holmes as well as her brother Robert W. Baggett and wife Sue Baggett.

The family also wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Home Hospice of Grayson County for their compassionate comforting care during Janie’s end of life journey. In addition, sincere gratitude is given to the staff of Texoma Healthcare Center for their care.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Anna United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 26, 2015, with Pastor Rick Williamson officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, TX. The family will receive many friends during a visitation on Friday, September 25th from 5:00-7:00 PM at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen.
