Felix William Drake, age 73, of McKinney, Texas passed away January 2, 2012. He was born June 3, 1938 in McKinney, to Felix Warden and Rosie (Simpson) Drake. On July 2, 1959, Felix married Waunita Williams in Fort Worth, Texas. He worked for thirty five years at Dallas Morning News. Felix was a former Boy Scout and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He loved to sit in the yard and watch the birds and squirrels with his two dogs, Spot and Cindy. He is survived by his wife, Waunita Drake of McKinney; sons, Keith Drake and wife Nancy of Ovilla, Texas, Kerry Drake of McKinney, Ritchy Drake of Grand Prairie, Texas, Randy Drake of Fort Worth, and Jim Clark of Allen, Texas; grandsons, Ritchy Drake, Jr. of Grand Prairie, and Mitchell Drake of Ovilla; brothers, Jimmy Drake of Conroe, Texas, Donnie Drake of Paris, Texas, Bennie Drake of McKinney, Roy Gross of Arlington, Texas, John Gross of Destin, Florida, and Jerry Gross of Arlington; sisters, Lynn Gross of Arlington and Ann Brady of Seagoville, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, loving relatives, and friends. Felix is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and beloved granddaughter, Madison Drake. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2011, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
