Everett Leon Garner, age 82 of Celina and Frisco, Texas passed away on June 25, 2014 in Celina, Texas. He was born on January 8, 1932 in Spencerville, Oklahoma to Granville G. and Edna Lucille (Barr) Garner. Leon graduated from Washita County Elementary School in 1947. He enlisted in the United States Army where he served in the Pacific. He married Virgie Maye Freeman in Carlsbad, New Mexico in 1955. Virgie and Leon were married for 38 years before Virgie passed away in 1994. Leon worked as a Paint and Drywall contractor and owned a Paint Store in Plano during the 1980’s. He was a Frisco City Councilman in 1981 and a lifetime member of the Frisco Lions Club.

Leon is survived by his daughters, Linda Sue Shelton and her husband, Danny of Celina, Texas, Lisa Powers and her husband, Charles of Keller, Texas; grandchildren, Kamye and Banks Pemberton of Celina, Texas; Cherrisa Shelton of Houston, Texas, Ashlee Endsley of Mount Pleasant, Texas, Whitney and Crystal Shelton of The Colony, Texas, Ckierra Gale of Rutland, Vermont, Callen McKenzie of Las Vegas, Nevada and Lili Powers of Keller, Texas; great-grandchildren, Brennan and Forrest Pemberton, Trevin, Paislee and Kelvin Shelton, Alyssa and Jordan Endsley and Anthony, Hannah and Logan Shelton; brother, Alton Garner of Frisco.

Leon is preceded in death by his wife, Virgie; parents, Granville and Lucille Garner; brothers, John Garner and Gene Garner and his sister, Mary Sawyers.

The family will receive friends at a Visitation on Friday, June 27, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Frisco. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Little Elm Cemetery.
