Mrs. Evelyn Thompson, age 85, of McKinney, Texas passed away September 12, 2006. She was born October 2, 1920, in Collin County, Texas to James T. and Sarah Jane (Smith) Gunter. On June 1, 1938, she married James E. Thompson in McKinney, Texas. Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in McKinney, "The Wild Bunch". She is survived by her sons, Jim Thompson and wife, Helen of Blue Ridge, Texas and Michael Thompson and wife, Sarah of Ft. Worth, Texas; daughter, Gail Ross of Fairfax Virginia; 4 grandchildren, Steven Ross of Clifton, Virginia, David Ross of Fairfax, Virginia, Jamie Seals of Dallas, Texas and Shelly Nellen of Burleson, Texas; great grandchildren, Logan, Chloe and Ryan Ross, Dakota and Irelyn Sullivan and Phoenix Nellen; brother, Haskell "Cotton" Gunter of McKinney; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Her husband, James Thompson and her parents preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2006, at Friendship Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Friday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
