Evelyn Oleta Patman

Evelyn Oleta Patman, age 96, of McKinney, Texas, passed away April 19, 2014, in McKinney.  Evelyn was born June 24, 1917, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to Louis Jackson and Martha Ruth (Sherman) Ferguson.  She married James “JW” Wylie Patman on June 22, 1935, in Rockwall, Texas.  Evelyn was a real estate broker and owned her own real estate business.  She and her business partner, Pearl Burns, owned another company called Prep Tutoring in which they tutored some of the top real estate brokers in Dallas including some of the Dallas Cowboys.  Evelyn loved to cook, sew, and crochet.  She was a woman of many talents.

She is survived by her daughter, Janell Pennington and husband, Steve of McKinney, Texas; grandsons, Jim Patman and wife, DeAnne of Odessa, Texas, Warren Patman and wife, Donna, also of Odessa, Mike Patman and wife, Traci of Bethany, Oklahoma, and Lance Ogletree and wife, Melissa of Waxhaw, North Carolina; great-grandchildren, J. R. Patman, Shaun Patman, Dereck Patman, Nate Patman, Jake Patman, Ainsley Ogletree, and Kallie Ogletree; great-great-grandchildren, Ethan Brem, Xavier Patman, Syndee Patman, Brian Fitzgerald, Ryan Patman, Caitlin Fitzgerald, Madison Patman, and Tallyn Patman; sisters, Verdinell Shriver of Grand Prairie, Texas and Bettie May of The Woodlands, Texas; brother, Boyd Ferguson and wife, Lois of Greenville, Texas; sister-in-law, Helen Ferguson of Nocona, Texas; and numerous other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Charles Everett Patman, brothers, Herbert Ferguson, Louis Ferguson, and Glenn Ferguson, and sisters, Edna Ferguson, Bonnie Brazzell, and Mary Erspamer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at First United Methodist Church in McKinney, Texas.  Interment will take place at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery in Sulphur Springs, Texas.  The family will receive friends during a visitation 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., Tuesday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
