Mrs. Evelyn Laverne Goree, age 83, of McKinney, Texas passed away July 29, 2007. She was born August 30, 1923, in Huntington, Texas, to Lee Roy and Elvia (Noel) Goode. On July 1, 1955, she married Joseph Goree in Galveston, Texas. Evelyn worked as an electronics assembler for E-Systems and Raytheon. She is survived by her children, Rebecca Richards and her husband, Johnny of Campbell, Texas, Jerry Walker and his wife, Vicki of The Colony, Texas, Joseph Goree and his wife, Cecelia of Dallas, Texas and Kenneth Goree and his wife, Debbi of Garland, Texas; eleven grandchildren, David Walker, Angela Garcia, Jacob Goree, Jordan Goree, Joshua Goree, Kelli Goree, Kevin Goree, Jeffrey Richards, Johnny Richards, Johnette Etter and Janie Jones; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and her sisters, Ora Mae Carter and Naomi “Tean” Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Carolyn Hughes and her sister, Hazel Farmer. Nicheside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 4, 2007 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Texas with Rev. Danny Buster officiating. A remembrance gathering will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, August 3, 2007, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
