Mrs. Evelyn Mae Ellis, age 83 passed away on April 22, 2006 in McKinney. She was born August 4, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan to Wendell and Blanche Vermilyea. Mrs. Ellis was a lifelong member of the Christian Science Church. She grew up in Muskegon, Michigan with her parents and her brother, Harley. In 1950, she married Richard George Ellis in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where her one and only son, George, was born. The family moved to Largo, Florida, in 1962, where Evelyn lived for nearly four decades. She was a homemaker and realtor, who worked for several real estate firms in Seminole and Largo over a span of 25 years. In 2001, at the age of 78, Evelyn moved to McKinney, Texas to live close to her son George and his family. She was a resident of Homestead of McKinney Nursing Home since January 2005. She is survived by her son, George Ellis and wife, Ana Maria; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Her final resting place will be next to her husband at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park in Largo, Florida.
