Evelyn Warren Clark, age 85, of Plano, Texas, passed away January 11, 2013, in Plano. Evelyn was born October 12, 1927, in Brinkman, Oklahoma, to Charles and Dorfie (Short) Warren. She married John Wesley Clark on October 28, 1946, in Brinkman. Evelyn and her family lived in Amarillo, Texas for a number of years. She was a longtime member of San Jacinto Baptist Church in Amarillo where she was Children’s Director. Evelyn and her husband also taught in the youth department and she was very active in the choir.
She is survived by her son, Gary Clark and wife, Teri of Oak Point, Texas; daughter; Brenda Bailey Holmes and husband, Don of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Bryan Bailey and wife, Jenni of Dallas, Texas, Alicia Strange and husband, Teddy of Plano, Texas, Lauren Clark, Preston Clark, Lucas Clark, and Lydia Clark, all of Oak Point, Texas; great-grandson, Caden Bailey; and brothers, C. A. Warren and wife, Nancy of Brinkman, Oklahoma and Ron Warren of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley “Wes” Clark in 2010.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will take place at a later date. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday evening at the funeral home.
