IN LOVING MEMORY

Evelyn Mary Chase

Jul 20 1922 - Feb 24 2014

Evelyn Mary (nee Evelina Leonora Varone) Chase July 20, 1922 – February 24, 2014. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Evelyn Chase, age 91 of Frisco, Texas passed away on February 24, 2014 in Plano, Texas. She was the thirteenth child born to Louise (Salerno) and Gioacchino Varone on July 20, 1922 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.  She met and married Ernest “Ernie” Chase, the love of her life and father of their three children in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on January 8, 1944. She was a Mill Worker in the Textile Industry.

Evelyn will always be remembered by her big smile, her laughter, her welcoming heart, and her genuine love of family. She has touched many lives and never met a stranger. She was always the first to offer help to someone in need. Evelyn’s favorite hobbies were cooking, knitting, dancing, bowling, bingo and playing with the family dogs, Sassy and Bandit.  She had a beautiful singing voice and usually was found singing as she cooked. Evelyn enjoyed life and was active until her death. Her fondest memories were of attending Pawtucket Red Sox baseball games, going to concerts, taking trips to the beach, Sunday dinners with family, and taking a cross country trip with her husband.

In lieu of a funeral service, the family had a memorial Mass said for Evelyn at St. Francis Catholic Church and held a private gathering of immediate family to celebrate Evelyn’s life. Her wishes were to have her ashes returned to Rhode Island where she spent most of her life with her family.

Evelyn was predeceased in 1988 by her husband, Ernie Chase of 44 years, her parents, and 3 sisters and 6 brothers.

Evelyn is survived by her three children, Gary Chase and his wife, Linda of Frisco, Texas, Gail Chase and husband Stevan Gressitt of Unity, Maine and Donna Chase of Eugene, Oregon; two grandchildren, Heather Wisdom and her husband, Andy and Damon Chase and his wife, Kristi of Levelland, Texas; two step-grandchildren, Jarod Dinkins of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Lauren Marr and her husband, Zack of Lynden, Washington; three great-grandchildren, Haven Wisdom, Tyler Chase and Tristan Wisdom of Levelland, Texas and three step-great-grandchildren, Kael Dinkins, Kenedi Dinkins of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Tanner Marr of Lynden, Washington, and many nieces and nephews.
