Eva Coleen Parkman

Coleen Parkman, age 81 of McKinney, Texas passed away March 22, 2015 in McKinney, Texas. She was born December 13, 1933 in Pleasanton, Iowa to Teddy K. and Frances (Spurlock) Dunn. Coleen moved to New Mexico to teach school in 1957. She was married to William S. Parkman for more than forty years before his passing in 2002. Coleen was a longtime member of University United Methodist Church in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She was active with the United Methodist Women’s group at the United Methodist Church. Coleen moved to McKinney in 2008 where she was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in McKinney, Texas and active with the Piece Makers Quilting Ministries and Fellowship Sunday  School Class. Coleen loved sewing and making clothes. She was an avid reader and loved animals, and was devoted to her family.

Coleen is survived by her daughters, Beth Knox and husband Allen of McKinney, Texas and Penny Ford of Quinlan, Texas; son, Craig Parkman of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Shey Ford, Lenay Ford, Myriah Ford, Taylor Knox, Jonathan Knox, Lauren Knox and Kennedy Parkman; along with a host of other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Parkman and parents, Teddy and Frances Dunn.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church, 2705 Virginia Parkway, McKinney, Texas 75071. The family will receive friends during a visitation Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. There will be a graveside service held Monday, March 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Masonic Cemetery in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
