Esther Claire Watson, age 94, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and McKinney, Texas passed away November 27, 2010 at 3:40 am at her home in McKinney, Texas. She was born May 5, 1916 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island to Fritz Osberg and Lillian (Dunse) Osberg. On July 31, 1946 she married Samuel Benton Watson in Quincy, Massachusetts. Esther graduated from Boston University with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education. She taught in the Oklahoma public schools, last at Ramona, retiring in 1978. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Bartlesville. She was also a member of United Methodist Women, National Retired Teachers Association, Oklahoma Retired Teacher, and Washington County Retired Teachers. She is survived by her son, Samuel Watson, daughter-in-law, Mary Beth Watson, and grandson, Jay Watson of McKinney, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fritz and Lillian Osberg; husband, Samuel B. Watson; sister, Lillian Cheney of Prescott, Arizona; brother, Norman Osberg of Somerset, Massachusetts. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Agent Chapel, 102 East Chickasaw Avenue, Sallisaw, Oklahoma 74955. Interment will follow at Fleetwood Cemetery.
