Mr. Ernest Owens, Jr., age 73, of McKinney, Texas passed away on June 17, 2004, in McKinney. He was born on January 31, 1931, in Dallas, Texas to Ernest and Ethel (Adcock) Owens, Sr. He married Reba Dale on August 26, 1950, in McKinney. He served in the U.S. Army, 45 infantry and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Hillcrest Christian Church. He is survived by his wife, Reba Owens; son, Calvin Owens and wife, Laurie; daughter, Karen Burnside and husband, Glenn all of McKinney; grandchildren, Tayler Burnside, Jacob Owens, and Austin Owens; sisters, Lillian Lay of Dallas, Nancy Owens also of Dallas, and Wanda Gavin of Columbus, Georgia; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 20, 2004, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Rod Corner and Rev. Nathan Randalls officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Saturday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Hillcrest Christian Church.
