Erin Kay Ferguson

Born Nov.1934 in Two Harbors, MN, and she completed her life’s journey on Dec. 26, 2010 in Richardson, TX. Kay is survived by her husband, James (Jim) Ferguson to whom she has shared 58 years of marriage; 4 daughters, Terry Ferguson, Christa Platt, Melinda McCarthy, Laura Struempler, and 1 son, Dr. Bryan Ferguson. She has 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Kay has 2 surviving sisters, Sandra and Ardath, and 1 brother, David. Her family moved from Minnesota to TX while a senior in high school where she graduated from Lancaster HS in 1952. She spent most of her life in Richardson, TX. Kay and her husband are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Viewing with the family will be at 9:30 am Thurs, Dec. 30th at the church located at 14740 Meandering Way, Dallas, TX. Services will be the same day and location at 11:00 am. She was a dedicated and compassionate mother to her children, and holds a strong bond to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One of her achievements was to complete a book, “A Personal History of Erin Kay Smith Ferguson” for her posterity which she was able to see the first copy in one of her last days. Her daughters and daughter-in-law assisted with it’s preparation. Kay understands the purpose of life on earth, and looks forward to her continued life throughout eternity to be eventually with her husband and family, in Heavenly Father’s kingdom.
