Emma Lucille "Lucy" Craig

Emma Lucille Craig, better known as Lucy, was born August 27, 1912 at Bells, Texas to Marion Thomas Craig and Emma Montgomery Craig. She died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Methodist Richardson Medical Center in Richardson, Texas at the age of 99. She was a long-time resident of Richardson, Texas.

Lucy was born in Bells, Texas and grew up in Whitewright. After graduating from High School in 1930 she worked at the family restaurant "Craig's Cafe" with her father Marion Thomas Craig until 1941. After that she went to Dallas and took a course Luscomb Aircraft School. When she finished school, she went to work at Southern Aircraft Corp. in Garland, TX as the second woman they hired in the manufacturing and assembly department. She worked there until 1948. Then she moved to Dallas and entered training at St Paul's Hospital to become a registered X-Ray Technologist. After her training was complete she worked at the Medical Arts Building in Dallas until she retired in 1971.

She is survived by nephew, Lonnie Myrick and wife Nona of Woodville, Texas; niece, Marilyn Myrick of Dallas; niece, Barbara Davis and husband John of Port Orchard, Washington; nephew, William White and wife Polly of Deming, New Mexico; great-nieces and nephews: Mark Myrick and wife Tina; Mitzi Stiehl and husband Greg; Marcie Artnak and husband Tony; Keith Myrick and wife Doris; Alan Myrick and wife Kelly; George Myrick and wife Karen; Walter Myrick; Kim Farrell and husband Patrick; Richard Davis and wife Amy; Kyle Davis; Nancy White; John White and wife Shelley; numerous great-great nieces and nephews; She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sisters, Cecil Craig, Clyde Craig, Homer Craig, Clara Myrick, Hellen Greenway, Isabelle White, Marion Louise "Ouija" Craig; and nephew, Walter Marion Myrick.

Graveside Services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Whitewright, Texas. Officiating the service will be Jimmie Houchin.
