Elsie Beautoon Scott

Elsie Beautoon Scott, formerly of McKinney, Texas, passed away on April 22, 2009, in Austin, Texas. She was born on March 20, 1904, in Ellis County, Texas to R. L. and Stella (Gullick) Hays. On October 24, 1923, she married Edgar Burge Scott in Bloomdale, Texas. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and playing dominoes. Elsie was a member of the Westside Church of Christ now High Pointe Church of Christ. She was very active in church and taught Sunday school for 47 years. She is survived by her daughter, Lera Nell England of Papillion, Nebraska; son, Lynn Scott of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Ron England, Debra Schiffour, Don Scott and Danny Scott; eight great grandchildren; seven great- great grandchildren; two great-great-great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Leta Phipps, Francis Willard and Dimple Mounger all of Celina, Texas and a host of other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, R.L. and Stella Hays and husband Edgar Burge Scott. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 24, 2009, in the Chapel at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, with Tom Gaumer, minister, officiating. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, April 23, 2009, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
