Elsie Kissinger Opitz, age 92, of Celina, Texas, passed away May 2, 2009, in Celina. Elsie was born May 6, 1916, in Morgan, Texas to Richard Henry and Mary Elizabeth (Martin) Kidwell. She married Rudolph Max Opitz on January 1, 1966 in McKinney, Texas. Elsie was an active member of Waddill Street Baptist Church in McKinney where she taught Sunday School and participated in the WMU. She is survived by her daughter, Sherley Poston and her husband, Earl of Mason, Texas; sons, Don Kissinger and his wife, Judy of Ivanhoe, Texas and Tom Kissinger and his wife, Peggy of West, Texas; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and sister, Vivian Locker of Dawson, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Woodrow Kissinger in 1953 and Rudy M. Opitz in 1980, son, Woodrow Kissinger in 2004, six brothers, and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation one hour prior to the service at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Monday to pay their respects and to sign the register book.
