Ella Bea Bowen

Ella Bea Bowen of McKinney, Texas passed away August 26, 2016, at the age of 72.  She was the second daughter of Jack and Hazel Doyal born January 15, 1944.  Ella grew up on a family farm in Roswell, New Mexico.  She enjoyed trading her inside chores with her sister Jackie so she could be outside with the animals.  Ella graduated Roswell High School in 1960.  She was a 1982 graduate of Texas Women University receiving BSN.  Ella worked at Flow Memorial Hospital for five years before moving to McKinney where she continued her career at Medical Center of McKinney as a manager of the Medical Surgical Unit and later the Day Surgery Pre-Op Unit. She married William “Bill” Bowen on July 31, 1987 in Frisco, Texas.  Ella and Bill spent their weekend’s country western dancing and caring for the ranch.  She loved being around family and friends.  Ella had a passion for her shelties.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Melissa, Texas where she attended regularly. Ella was a woman of integrity.  She was very kind and caring.

She is survived by her husband of twenty-nine years, Bill Bowen; children, Cindy West, Donald Long and wife Jodi, Donna Bowen, Lonnie Bowen, and Debbie Lynch; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas with Pastor Trey Graham officiating.  Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
