Elizabeth Ann Millar

Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Millar, age 88 of Frisco, Texas passed away on June 11, 2013 in Frisco. She was born on February 12, 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska to Joseph Egan Raab and Alice Delores (Gaughen) Raab. During her life Elizabeth was a professional Ice Skater, a Real Estate Agent and enjoyed traveling, friends, and family. In retirement she was a docent at the Dallas Arboretum. She was a member of the Roman Catholic Faith.

During the 1940s & 1950s she skated in Chicago, St. Louis & Canada and spent many years figure skating for friend Dot Franey in The Dot Franey Ice Review in the Century Room of the Adolphus Hotel as line captain.

She is survived by children, Cheryl Rivera Smith and husband, Louis of Frisco, Thomas Rivera and wife, Lori of Plano, Alyse Ray of Mineola, Michele Ray and husband, Lonzo of Blue Ridge, and Kelly Rivera of Goodyear, Arizona; grandchildren, Nathan Laredo, Callie Rivera, Andrea McGuffey, Alex Ray, Charles Rivera, Aaron Rivera and Rodney Smith; great-grandchildren, Leia McGuffey, Miles Laredo, Gabriel Higdon, Noah Laredo, Cylar Ray, Caroline Smith and Caroline’s new baby brother due any moment. She is also survived by her beloved puppies, Aspen and Vail.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Alice Raab and her husbands, Armando M. Rivera and John J. Millar.

 The family will receive friends at a Visitation to be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Frisco on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 6-8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 10:30 AM. A private interment will be held at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas.
