Mrs. Elizabeth Ray Lye “Liz”, age 84, of Richardson, Texas, loving wife, and devoted mother, passed away November 13, 2008 . She was born on February 4, 1924, in Leominster, Massachusetts to William and Mary (Gallager) Ray. On February 16, 1945, she married Robert Quentin Lye in Leominster. Liz attended Syracuse University in New York, and was an avid bridge player for many years at Lakeside Country Club in Houston, Texas. Following her move to Richardson, Liz continued to play bridge at the senior centers in Allen and Plano, Texas. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Richardson, and served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Houston for several years. She is survived by her daughters, Lyn Lye Thomas and her husband, Greg, and Mary Lye Malinak; sons, Dennis Ray Lye and wife, Barbara, Thomas Charles Lye and wife, Karen and Robert Edwin Lye and wife, Caryn; sister, Mary Ray Crowley; grandchildren, Cody, Kimberly, Kari, Kelly, Tamara, Troy, Jim, Travis, Whitney, Kolton, Rogan, Ryan, Colin, Bobby, Garrett, and Kristin; several great-grandchildren; and numerous other loving relatives and many friends. Liz was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Ray; son, Ronald Robert Lye; husband, Robert Quentin Lye; brother, William Ray and sister, Janet Ray McLaughlin. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 17, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m., Sunday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
