Elizabeth "Lisa" Ann Fletcher

Mrs. Elizabeth “Lisa” Ann Fletcher, age 42, of Frisco, TX passed away August 8, 2006, in Dallas, TX. She was born October 5, 1963, in Kansas City, MO to George and Eva (Contreras) Vasquez. On December 6, 1986, she married Cornelius Timothy Fletcher in Kansas City, KS. Lisa was a devoted wife and mother, a loyal friend, and a woman of God. She was a 1981 graduate of Turner HS in Kansas City, where she was very involved in Latin American Studies, her biggest dream was to study at the University of Mexico. She graduated from the Kansas City, KS Community College and Platt College for – Travel & Tourism. Lisa’s love for people and community was felt by many throughout her life. Lisa’s own personal life, marked by kidney disease and other medical setbacks, served as an inspiration to those facing similar hardships, which did not stop her efforts. As a volunteer with the National Kidney Foundations, Latin American Democratic Club and The United Way, she helped by bringing awareness of this disease. Lisa was honored the City of Kansas City, KS Proclamation “Lisa Fletcher-Vasquez Day” for her willing and unselfish commitment of her time and talent to benefit the lives of others. Her career included Carpenter Travel, Information Referral of Collin County, Plano ISD-ESOL, Practical Parenting and Experian. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Cornelius T. “Neil” Fletcher and her son Cornelius T. “Neil” Jr. both of Frisco, TX; parents, George and Eva Vasquez; brothers, John J. Vasquez of Overland Park, KS, Jose I. Vasquez of McKinney, TX and David A. Vasquez of Venice Beach, CA; nieces and nephews, Janina Vasquez of Overland Park, KS, Joshua Vasquez of San Diego, California and Dorian Vasquez of Miami, FL; and many other loving family members. Her sister, Laura Ann Vasquez preceded her in death in 1960. Visitation will be held 9:00 AM, Saturday, August 12, 2006 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 1201 Alma Drive, Plano, TX 75075. Mass will begin at 9:30 AM. Family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 PM, Friday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held, Monday, August 14, 2006 at 2:00 PM at Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.
