Elizabeth (Bebe) Feathers

Elizabeth (Bebe) Feathers, formerly of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on June 5, 2008, in McKinney, Texas. She was born December 3, 1918, in Tampa, Florida, and spent her childhood in New Orleans, Louisiana. She retired as a comptroller for the Southern Railroad and began a second career as a bookkeeper for M.T. Lambert Construction Company in Atlanta, Georgia. Following retirement she moved to Cumming, Georgia where she spent many happy days with her brother and sister boating, swimming and fishing. She and her sister Ruth Murphy were lovingly known as “the sisters” in the Cumming community where the two were inseparable, participating in the Garden Club, Bridge Club and Deer Creek Shores Presbyterian Church. Elizabeth later moved to McKinney, Texas, with her niece, Pat, where she became the surrogate grandmother to Ruth’s great-grandchildren. Elizabeth will be remembered for her beauty, strength of character, sharp wit, deep faith and love of family and friends. She is survived by her nieces, Pam Fussell and Pat Robitaille; and nephews, Bill Saunders, Paul Saunders and Steve Saunders. She was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Watson Saunders; her mother, Etta Saunders; her sister, Ruth Murphy; and brother, Bill Saunders.
