Elisabeth W. Garrison, age 72, of McKinney, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2013, at her home surrounded by family. Elisabeth was born December 15, 1940, in Allendorf, Germany, to Theophil and Helene (Schol) Wurtz. Elisabeth was a successful retail business owner for many years and a leader in her community. She was also a very charitable person and was responsible for providing education endowments for the McKinney and Wylie Education Foundations and generously supported various other local charities.
She is survived by her children, Brian Andersen and wife, Laurie of Trenton, Texas, Denise Holthaus and husband, Randy of McKinney, Texas, and Mark Andersen and wife, Mary of Palo Pinto, Texas; grandchildren, Brooke Richardson and husband, Tyler and Colby Carroll, all of McKinney, Texas; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Cooper; and by her first husband and father of her children, Dennis Andersen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Albert Garrison.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 400 N. College, St., McKinney, Texas, 75069.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Samaritan Inn of McKinney or the Collin County Humane Society.
