Edward Truett Steele, Jr.

Edward Truett Steele, Jr. died on November 23rd at his home in McKinney, Texas, after a long illness. Ed was born September 13, 1943, in Laurel, Mississippi. Ed served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he held the rank of Captain. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star. Ed served many years as a parole officer for the state of Tennessee, and established a reputation for compassion and fairness, always seeking to help his clients establish themselves and take advantage of a second chance in society.

His father, Edward Truett Steele, and his mother Celia Mulloy Steele precede him in death.

He is survived by: Carol, his wife of 45 years; sister Terry Steele Lawrence, of Nashville; sons Christopher (Connie) and Jonathan (Carol Denise); and grandchildren Aidan Truett Steele and Mary Elizabeth Steele.

A celebration of Ed’s life will take place on Saturday, December 21st, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 5871 Virginia Parkway, McKinney, Texas, at 10 a.m. A light reception will follow at the church. Inurnment will be at the columbarium of Trinity Presbyterian Church of McKinney, Texas.
