Mr. Edward J. Roberts, age 75, of Fairview, Texas passed away July 12, 2010. Ed was born March 14, 1935, in Junction City, Kansas. He was raised on a farm in Kansas prior to serving in the United States Air Force achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant and serving 3 years in England. He received a B.S. degree in Business from Emporia State University and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He was employed by Continental Pipe Line and Continental Oil Company for 13 years, and retired in 1995 from Anadarko Petroleum Corporation after 21 years where he served as Manager of Purchasing and Transportation. He was a member of the National Association of Purchasing Managers and Petroleum Industry Buyers Group. Ed was also a member of Champions Golf Club in Houston and Heritage Ranch Golf Club in Fairview, Texas. He had many hobbies including traveling, golfing, fishing and hunting. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Dottie; 2 sons, Ryan and wife, Dianne, and Michael and wife, Rachel and 3 grandchildren, Maxine, Major and Merry all of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Dolly Wilson of Salina, Kansas, Rose Sill of Mission, Texas, Jo Ann Cochran and Irene Ortiz of Kansas City, Missouri; brother, Jimmy Roberts of Waverly, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ed will be truly missed by his family and friends and leaves them with many treasured memories. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 16, 2010, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
